请教PP编号的含义或规律

在论坛潜水了一段时间，对PP很感兴趣。这个中间发现PP表款的编号有点莫名其妙，还请斑竹或其他老大指点！谢了

On Patek Philippe Reference Numbers :

IW: Many new collectors of Patek Philippe watches get a bit confused with the numbering system. Is there any logic or taxonomy to the numbering?
Philippe Stern : There is no “logic” (smile). For example, we had a reference 3919, which was famous, so when we made a new model that was a bit larger and it was similar…we called it 5919. But it is not logical…I agree…but just for us, since we know the 3919, we remember better the 5919.
