Recent Auction Results- Panerai didn't do so well

A recent auction at Antiquorum (March 2008) showed less than desireable results for Panerai. Only 5 pieces were sold out of 17 pieces. Anyone have a view on this? The brand is getting too pricey?

The most interesting Pieces  were those Pre V-Sly Tech's 5218,
The PVD  PAM 4, But the condition of this piece were not good.
The 127 ,195 and 239 .
I think the estimate  for the 195 were abit too aggressive.

Both estimate  for 127 and 239  were about right (fair market value)

yeah the Pre-Vs were the ones which found buyers. 127 has been going up like mad, maybe the depreciating USD has something to do with it but my impression is that the price has almost double in less than a year...I also vaguely remember a 195 being auctioned last year for around USD10k...not surprisingly this one didn't go too well....I think occasionally you'll find something at auctions, but the buyer's premiums are also getting out of control.
